Our Teen Stars program offers classes in a variety of styles, including Hip Hop, Jazz, Lyrical, Tap, Acro, Contemporary, and Musical Theater. Each class focuses on unique skills, from freestyle street dance in Hip Hop to the grace and emotion of Lyrical, the rhythmic techniques of Tap, and even Broadway-style dance and acting in Musical Theater. Our instructors work with dancers to build a strong foundation in technique while encouraging personal style and expression.
Dance offers a fantastic outlet for stress relief through physical activity, creative expression, and focus on movement. Our classes are designed to be engaging, helping dancers leave the worries of the day behind as they focus on learning and connecting with others. Being part of a fun, supportive community adds to these benefits, providing a place where dancers can feel at ease and fully present.
Students should wear leggings or dance shorts and an activewear top or a leotard and tights in studio colors. Black jazz shoes are required, and hair should be pulled back.
Consistency is key to progress, so we recommend attending at least one class per style each week. For dancers who want to build skills in multiple styles or pursue dance at a more advanced level, attending multiple classes weekly can be very beneficial.
Each style has a dress code to support safe movement:
- Hip Hop: Comfortable clothing with clean, non-marking sneakers.
- Jazz: Leggings or dance shorts, an activewear top, and black jazz shoes.
- Lyrical & Contemporary: Leotard or activewear, stirrup tights, lyrical shoes, or bare feet.
- Tap: Fitted dancewear with black tap shoes.
- Acro: Leotard or fitted activewear with bare feet.
Jewelry and watches aren’t permitted for safety and focus. Dancers with back-to-back classes may wear a leotard and convertible tights for easy transitions.
